How to Use Overdub

Introduction

The Overdub feature in Radio Workflow allows you to edit and correct voiceovers by replacing a portion of the original voiceover with new content. This step-by-step guide will walk you through the process of using the Overdub feature in Radio Workflow.

Accessing the Overdub Feature

  1. Log in to your Radio Workflow account.
  2. Locate the navigation menu on the left side of the screen.
  3. Click on Creative & Production
  4. Choose the Voiceovers option.

Uploading an External Voiceover

In this example, we will upload an external voiceover file received via email.

  1. Click on the Upload Voiceover button at the top left corner of the Voiceovers page.
  2. Select the appropriate talent from the dropdown menu.
  3. Click the Choose File button and locate the voiceover file on your computer.
  4. Once the file has been uploaded, click on the Run Query button to view your new voiceover on the Voiceovers page.

Using the Overdub Feature

  1. Find the voiceover you wish to edit on the Voiceovers page.

  2. Click on the voiceover to highlight it.

  3. Click on the Overdub button that appears to the left.

  4. In the Overdub window, locate and highlight the specific portion of the voiceover you wish to replace.

  5. Enter the new content you want to add in the 'Overdub Script' text box. In this example, we replace "detroitmetrousedcars.com" with "localusedcars".

Note: Make sure to leave any parts of the original voiceover you want to keep intact, such as ".com" in this example.
  1. Click the Generate button to create the new portion of the voiceover.

  2. Listen to the preview to make sure the new content fits nicely with the original voiceover.

Note: You may need to use a separate audio editing software, such as Adobe Audition or Pro Tools, to fine-tune the edited voiceover.
  1. All generated voiceovers are automatically saved in Voiceovers, once you are happy you can close the window.
